PM discounts Burma setback Published on Sep 5, 2002 Prime
Minister Thaksin Shinawatra yesterday took Burma's last-minute cancellation of a
fence-mending visit by its foreign minister in stride, saying it was "not a
big deal".
"This is not an urgent issue," Thaksin said.
Win Aung was expected to arrive tomorrow, but Rangoon informed Bangkok on
Monday that he would be heading overseas to attend some conferences instead.
"Don't be too concerned,"
the premier told reporters. "We aren't facing that many troubles from the
closing of the border." The Nation Burmatoday do not take any responsibility for news content. Copyrights of news articles remain with the respective news agencies or reporter[s].
