New Route for MAI
Mungpi/Mizzima News , February 24, 2004
Myanmar Airways International (MAI) will launch a new route
to New Delhi on March 15, said an airline source in New Delhi.
B737- 800 aircrafts will take off every Monday, Wednesday
and Friday to Indira Gandhi Airport in New Delhi with the
return flights on the following day.
“It was meant to be launched on February but failed
for technical reasons. We have many enquiries about the route
in our office but we will not be sure how strong passenger
demand is until the route is serviced”, the source said.
New Delhi is the fifth regional destination for MAI, which
is a joint venture of the state-own Myanmar Airways and the
Region Air, a Singapore-based carrier. MAI has been operating
for eleven years and services to Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok,
and Kuala Lumpur.
