express concern of Suu Kyi's health

Former political prisoners groups express the concern of
Aung San Suu Kyi's health , pointing that hunger striking
in Burma's prison has serious consequences, even the possibility
of death.
'' Although hunger strike is a peaceful method, the military
junta's response is always brutal. The methods employed to
force a hunger striker to eat include withholding drinking
water, threats and constant beatings" said exiled Assistance
Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP)'s statement on
September 1.
AAPP said that a political prisoner , Aung Kyaw Moe died
during hunger strike demonstration Tharawaddy prison in 2002
as a result of brutal torture.
Mrs. Suu Kyi, 59, had held launched a hunger strike to protest
junta's detention in a secret place, said US state department
on August 31.
Burma's military regime rejects "Groundless" that
United State's claim. However, UN, Amnesty International,
United State, Britain expressed the concern and called for
immediately release of opposition leader.
AAPP called immediate and unconditional release of Mrs. Suu
Kyi and all political prisoners .
" we ask that the United Nations and Asean countries
draw up pragmatic plans and for the release of our heroes
and for restoring democracy and human rights" it added.
Mrs. Kyi, a Nobel Laureate was arrested since May 30 after
junta's thugs ambush on herself and her party National League
for Democracy's members while political touring to Sagaing
division.
