An information session titled "Post-sanction Burma:
Challenges for Burma's Democratization" shall be convened
by exiled Burmese Dissidents in San Diego on tomorrow in a
bid to unveil new strategies and report on underground resistance
movements.
The briefing session is mainly aimed to provide the American
press with an up-to-date and first-hand account on the situation
inside Burma, and of the worldwide resistance movement. The
briefing shall be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel &
Marina/Quinn's in San Diego CA.
In attendance will be exiled political leaders recently returned
from Burma and the country's "liberated areas".
An organizer said "We will be showing exclusive footage
of battle scenes between the ruling junta and the freedom
fighters and of Aung San Suu Kyi on her non-violent organizing
trail outside Rangoon prior to the bloody ambush by the regime".
Dr. Zarni, Founder of the US-based Free Burma Coalition,
said "We believe the American press deserves a truthful
first-hand account on the situation inside Burma. Moreover,
we will shed light on the resistance movement which has been
actively engaged in the battle to free Burma from the tyrannicalruling
junta but until now has been little known outside Burma".
Burmese political exiles around the world are also planning
a solidarity march on International Human Rights Day, the
10 December.
