More political prisoners released from
Myikyina Prison

2 political prisoners from Myikyina Prison, Kachin State
in northern Burma were released on 9 November.
They are Daw Ngwe Kyaing, an organiser of Myikyina Township
NLD and Lonkhin Township member Ko Tin Soe.
Daw Ngwe Kyaing and Ko Tin Soe were arrested on 18 July and
interrogated and imprisoned by local military intelligence
agents.
She was interrogated for four days non-stop and sent her
to prison.
Daw Ngwe Kyaing was arrested without any charge and she was
asked repeatedly what Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said during her
stay in her house at Myikyina during her tour of Kachin State.
She was forced to sign a statement promising the authorities
not to say anything about her experiences before she was released.
Her imprisoned colleague, U Ne Win is suffering from gastric
problems and he needs to be operated on soon, according to
her.
Similarly, Ko Tun Zaw Zaw who was also arrested in connection
with Dipeyin incident was released from Khamti Prison in Kachin
State.
