DVB ( 14 November 2003 )

Ko Tun Zaw Zaw who was supposed to be released on 13 November from Khamti Prison recently has not arrived at his parents’ home, according to his friends.

The SPDC had informed foreign embassies in Rangoon including the Chinese that it is releasing him from the prison.

The health condition of Ko Tun Zaw Zaw is said to be very bad and his mother was waiting for him with home-made meals until midnight on the day he was supposed to be coming home in Rangoon.

Ko Tun Zaw Zaw, a member of Central NLD Youth was arrested during Dipeyin assault for protecting Daw Aung San Suu Kyi with his own life from the attackers and imprisoned in Khamti Prison, Kachin State in northern Burma.

His health condition deteriorated because he was tortured and treated inhumanely by the military intelligence agents during his time in Khamti Prison.
