3 political prisoners released

Ko Htay Nyunt who was accused of being an underground communist
agent and two other political prisoners (Ko Ko Naing and Kyaw
Sein Maung) were released by the SPDC on 31 October from Mandalay
Prison.
Ko Htay Nyunt (son of Thakhin Thar Nyunt), a policeman was
sentence to ten years and imprisoned in 1989 by military intelligence
agents for allegedly supplying information to communist fighters
when the Burma Communist Party (BCP) had already collapsed
in Burma.
He was transferred to several prisons and treated inhumanely
and his sentenced was extended to another four years.
His older sister, Daw Cho Cho Nwe said that her brother is
damaged both physically and mentally, and he is suffering
from many kinds of illness because of the treatments he received
in the prisons.
