SPDC honors village head for attacking

The village head of Kyi-Ywar near Depeyin in upper Burma
was awardeded with a motor-cycle and a cellular phone for
effective implementation of his ’duties’ at the
notorious Dipeyin incident. The village head, U Thein Aung
now warns the villagers not to listen to foreign radio stations
on the pains of arrest and imprisonment.
Although U Thein Aung who conspired with the USDA (Union
Solidarity and Development Association) to assautlt the NLD
supporters was honored by the regime thus , Rev. U Wimala,
the abbot of the village monastery was sentenced to 9 years
and 3 months in prison on 14 August for helping the opposition
during the Aung San Suu Kyi's trip. U Kyee Nyo and two other
villagers were each sentenced to 3 years and 3 months in prison.
On May 30, SPDC sponsored thugs and local USDA members ambushed
the motorcade of the NLD and assaulted its supporters near
Kyi-ywar. Up to a hundred people were reported to be killed
and many NLD leaders including Burmese democracy leader Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi were arrested and detained by the military
authority. |
