Deserter killed by SPDC army

One of the four deserters from SPDC army, Light Infantry
(IB) – 132 based at Mawkmai in Southern Shan State who
shot their commander and ran away was captured dead.
The soldiers deserted on 20 August and one of them was captured
on 24 August. When they were trying to escape, they met the
soldiers from Column – 2 of IB – 99 led by Captain
Soe Myint Oo at Thitnyut, Kadugyi region in the southern Shan
State. Private Maung Aung Paing was captured dead with his
G-3 assault rifle.
The other three soldiers, Privates Maung Zaw Latt, Maung
Aung Aung and Maung Nay Myo Thu managed to escape. But the
army is still looking for him.
The commander of Eastern Military Command, General Khin Maung
Myint has instructed the search parties to shoot and kill
all the deserters on sight.
