Another blast in Myawaddy
DVB (August 25,2003)
A bomb has exploded at the Bayintnaung Market in Myawaddy,
Karen State on 24 August. Until now, there has been no report
of casualty.
Local residents were reported to be terrified but they have
also been skeptical about the bomb blast which occurred under
the tight security measures imposed by the authorities.
"I do not know what kind of bomb exploded but who could
be the culprit," said a local resident from Myawaddy.
"They might be the ones that are imposing strict security
measures and screening everyone coming in and out of Myawaddy.
Think about it! Who could possibly commit such action."
In July, a bomb also exploded in the field in front of the
SPDC (State Peace and Development Council) Brigade Headquarters
in Myawaddy.
