Request of revealing more information
of authors in state media

Chairman of the Thanhlin Minthamee Library of Myitchay Township
has written a letter to the chief editor of Kyemon Daily to
review the articles and authors’ short biographies in
the state controlled newspapers.
The letter was sent by Ko Kyaw Kyaw Naing, a youth organizer
of the NLD’s township and the chairman of Thanhlin Minthamee
Library.
Since the newspapers published in Burma only report the government’s
views and are treated by local and international media as
reflecting the country’s position, it is editor’s
responsibility to uphold Burma’s dignity, according
to Ko Kyaw Kyaw Naing.
To rebuild the nation, it is important to know that “it
is harming the development of the country by publishing articles
which undermine national reconciliation, misconstrue the present
government, or people who love democracy,” said Ko Kyaw
Kyaw Naing.
Some also think many news articles have divided the government
and the people because those articles have failed to represent
neither the country nor the government.
As a result, a short biography of the authors should be carefully
examined and publish their articles, according to Ko Kyaw
Kyaw Naing.
“We believe it would be more beneficial to the government
and request those who are responsible to uphold the dignity
of the newspapers,” said Ko Kyaw Kyaw Naing.
