Lawsuit against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi
adjourned to 25 August
DVB ( July 28,2003 )
There was a hearing at a divisional court in Rangoon today
on the inheritance lawsuit against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi by
her brother. But Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s legal representative,
U Tun Tin was unable to attend and the hearing was postponed
to the 25th of August.
U Tun Tin has been ill and he was unable to attend the court
appointment twice.
According to earlier reports, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s
legal team requested the court to postpone the hearing as
the situation was unstable because of the Dipeyin incident
and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi herself is being detained. But the
authority refused the request and decided to continue the
trial.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s older brother U Aung San Oo
and his wife Daw Leh Leh Nwe Lay have been living in Rangoon
but they haven’t comment anything about the inheritance
lawsuit.
According to the latest news, the court also refused to cancel
the case with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s cousin Ko Soe Aung
and it is to be heard on the 6th of August.
