They are liars said the SPDC

The military junta of Burma, the SPDC has today accused the two eyewitnesses, the NLD members from Mandalay Township U Khin Zaw And Ko Wunna Maung who gave detailed testimonies to the Thai parliament about their experiences during the Dipeyin incident as liars.

The two have no standard or quality to accompany Daw Aung San Suu Kyi during her trip, says the statement issued by the junta.

Aung Lwin Oo : In concerning with the accusations of the SPDC on the two eye witnesses, Ko Kyaw Kyaw, a member of the recently formed Dipeyin Incident Inquiry Commission gave his reactions as follows:

Ko Kyaw Kyaw : Ko Wunna Maung is a NLD member of the Htun-Tone Ward, Chanmyat Thazi, Manadalay. He was given the responsibility with 6 other youths to escort Daw Aung San Suu Kyi during her trip by Dr. Hla Soe Nyunt. Before that, on the eve of the 28th of May, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi had a meeting with 19 NLD members of the Htun-Tone Ward. Ko Wunna Maung was among them. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi gave them the responsibility for security for the next night’s journey. Ko Wunna Maung was not also in the last trip, he was also in the previous trip at Mogok taking security responsibility. He was also in the Maymyo trip. He is an artist of the highest calibre. He is not only a car workshop engineer and a builder, he was one of the people who personally moulded the golden hat [Shwe Khamauk].

Similarly, the SPDC claims that although U Khin Zaw is a member of the Mandalay Northwest Township NLD, he never accompanied Daw Aung San Suu Kyi during her trip. Moreover, U Khin Zaw is a precious stone dealer and he fled the country after not paying money after a jade deal, insisted the regime. Ko Kyaw Kyaw gave answer to the accusations as follows:

Ko Kyaw Kyaw : U Khin Zaw is also a member of the Mandalay Northwest Township NLD committee. He is a responsible person. It is not true that he took the money from a jade deal and fled the country. The best thing is when Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and U Tin Oo are allowed to speak for themselves with the media people like you, we will know the whole truth. We won’t be having any benefit if we keep on arguing.
