Flag meeting held at Cox’sbazar
Infiltration is main issue
Cox’sbazar, December 18: A flag
meeting at regional commander level between Burma and Bangladesh
was held at BDR guesthouse, at Cox’sbazar, most southeast
district of Bangladesh, nearest to Burma border, on 8th December,
our correspondent reports.
Border security force Nasaka deputy commander attended the meetings
accompanied by other 25 personnel and its counterparts the chief
of BDR in Chittagong region was flanked by 9 personnel.
In the meeting agenda of discussion were regular infiltration from
both the sides, illegal logging from Burma and to find the ways
and means to stop stealing domestic animals that causing poor farmers
big loss of both the sides, after the meeting they signed an agreement,
it says.
Two sides in the meeting put emphasis on the issue of insurgents
of Burma that are illegally staying inside boarding area of Bangladesh
and on the issue to stop further infiltration by joint effort.
Meeting ended at 5 PM, which started at 9 AM.
After the meeting Burmese attendees paid a visit to a famous Buddhist
temple in Cox’sbazar to show honor to age old Buddha images
coined by Rakhaing artists. |
