Mr. George W Bush
The President of United States of America
Date 15-10-2003
Dear Mr. President
I am writing this letter regarding Burma first of all, I’d
like to express my thanks toyou for you endorsing “the Freedom
and Democracy Act on Burma”.Recently Asian meeting in Indonesia
has ended without taking any substantive Action on Burma, confirming
its policy of non-interference in member.
countries’ internal affairs. It brought complete dismay to
us, who has put great hope on Asian for democratic change in Burma.
We are also disappointed with the policies of Burma, bordering countries
such as China, India and Thailand.
You may be aware that Burma junta’s now Prime Minister, General
Khain Nyuntdeclared 7 point road map plan which is totally unacceptable
for us.That road maps outlines the plan which will bring the political
situation in Burmaback to square one reconvening the sham national
convention from which National League for Democracy had already
boycotted, neglection the 1990 general election results, drawing
a new constitution which will allow us 25% off new parliaments to
military personnel by passing the legal rights of elected members
of parliament etc we assume that the plan with take about as years
to implement it.
Therefore, our only hope is with you and people, I ardently request
you to use your good office to take an initiative step for having
democratic changes in Burma.I wish you have a good trip to Thailand
to attend the APEC meeting.
Thanking you in advance.
Your faithfully,
(Dr Aee Kyaw)
