"Render support to the Armed Revolutionaries Forces"
by (Mahn Robert BaZan)

Mr. Chairman and all democratic freedom fighters,

I bring you very special greetings from Karen Solidarity Organization (KSO). I am deeply honored to have this opportunity to present this paper with the heading " Render support to the Armed Revolutionaries Forces" First of all I would like to give my regards and salute to the freedom fighters who had fallen, dedicating their precious lives while they fought for federal union and liberation of the entire country from the "Crutches of Tyranny"

For our father golden land to become peaceful and prosperous democratic country, the first thing we need to do is to dig deep and root out the SPDC military dictatorship. So long as there is fascist like military dictatorship no country, no region and nowhere would there be peace and progress. If we wish Burma to become democratic we need to weed out the military dictators. Period.

Liquidation of SPDC military dynasty from Burma is not to object the face to face consultation for national reconciliation. It is not an alternative either. According to the historical process of Burma, Bo Ne Win used the guns to suppress in 1962 and to hoodwink the nation and the entire ethnic societies. Whenever he called for consultation it was not a face to face equal discussion but similar to a dog up on golden throne barking loud and giving orders. Whenever called for negotiation the military regime begged to lay down arms and bow down to them. This arrogant and heavy handed attitude was always met with outright rejection. No question about it.

It is still a long way to go for the dictators and the democratic forces to have face to face consultation. And the distance is much further apart for the ethnic groups to play its role and have tripartite dialogue.

The country is in a stand still and this is because of the arrogant stubborn attitude of the men in military uniform. We categorically demand all SPDC military personal to go back to the barracks and guard dutifully the future government that is to form made up of Burman and the ethnic group. SPDC generals can rule only in the military by given orders, however, there is no way to behave similarly in ruling the country.

`In building the nation to become democratic society the military role is only to become a watch dog and nothing else. Fire and water never mix and in the same way dictatorship and democracy can never mingle. Only the elected officials can participate in leading the country.

If the military personal like to participate they must hand over power to the 1990 elected officials, respect them and shed their military uniform. Then only they can participate in politics when elected.

Mr. Chairman,

Revolutionary leaders believe that for a revolution to become successful it needs three categories viz: party, army and multi-ethnic alliance. Our democratic revolution needs the above mentioned three ingredients.

(1) In the current Burmese democratic revolutionary movement it is made up of (NLD/NCUB/NCGUB). The question is who is leading what and whom are we to follow. It is very puzzling.

(2) To remove SPDC half million men army and to set up a new democratic country we need combination of multi-ethnic forces and non-violence means of fighting is a far cry. Unless and until we form multi-ethnic armed revolutionary forces we will be like a paralyzed man.

(3) We now urgently need multi-ethnic revolutionary forces of Burma in diaspora. (Political, military and organization) is essential to co-ordinate and co-operate for us to realize our dreams of democracy.

Mr. Chairman,

For us not to become paralyzed I like to put up about armed revolution. We need to abolish theory without practical or practical without theory. It is time that we do that.

(a) Wholehearted support to the multi-ethnic revolutionary forces who are defending their identity and dignity.

(b) Plan and project for the future military forces of Burma.

I will elaborate how to support our armed forces.

(1) The multi-ethnic party has been fighting since 1949 up to this day for people's liberation and to make its own destiny. The various government extend military to control power and never find political solution to the country's problem. At our (International Congress of Burma) (ICB) it was unanimously agreed to have (Military supporting Committee). Hence, I make an appeal now to make this decision to materialize.

(2) Plan for future military.

So long as there is life we need our armed forces to give protection to the nation. We need to form a multi-ethnic armed force. This armed force must respect democracy, human rights and the country's constitution. I like to relate the experience of my armed revolution days. In the (DAB) (Democratic Alliance of Burma) army (Kidoh) column under my command there were various ethnic groups viz. KNLA, Karenni, ABSDF, PLF, NLD(LA). Here we experienced, unity, democracy, brotherhood, equality, justice, and so on. Many languages but speaking with one voice. It is similar to a tiny union and a family. No racial hatred and no religious animosity. But all were in the same boat suppressed by the SPDC and enslaved by the regime. All have understandingly giving respect among themselves.

For the future government it is essential to train and groom military officers very systematically. These men and women must respect human rights, democracy and must be persons who bitterly hate the military dictatorship. So we urgently need to have (Military Academy) to train future commanders.

Mr. Chairman,

In conclusion I would like to emphatically say that our real enemy is SPDC. We must fight this enemy. In the first changing world it is of paramount importance not to become a paralyzed revolution. For the multi-ethnic democratic forces to become increasingly successful we need to co-operate, co-ordinate and work together in fierce unity.

Peace and health to all the delegates and who are present here in this room. Thank you very much.

Mahn Robert BaZan
