| INVITATION LETTER
Date: October 3, 2003
The Battle of Political Defiance No.75 - "Anti-Dictatorship
Peoples' Freedom Movement" will continue. We are very thankful
for the US’s help to free Burma with its intensifying efforts
to bring more international pressure to bear on the brutal regime
in Burma. As we all know the United States continues to work with
the European Union, Japan and others to exert more pressure on the
regime.
In the recent news, Kofi Annan was giving a hint that The United
Nations, ASEAN and the international community at large must join
hands in order to facilitate the democratic transition in Myanmar
in time for 2006, when the country assumes the ASEAN chairmanship.
That sounds like he is trying to play along with Khin Nyunt’s
road-map game. And, it means, he wants to see the people in Burma
to suffer the regime’s aggressions, poverty and the epidemic
diseases at least for the next three years without regarding Daw
Suu’s notion that the more the regime tries to
delay the DIALOGUE the worst the people in Burma will suffer day
by day. One thing we can say for sure is that the UN and us the
democratic forces are not on the same page any more. And, also we
have never heard he has mentioned about setting up an investigation
for May 30’s MASSACRE.
What is going on to the UN?
Mr. Razali, the regime’s business partner, is again misleading
us to go for another election held by murderous Khin Nyunt and Soe
Win regime. As we have already mentioned about it in “OUR
THOUGHT” last week, Mr. Razali and Thai’s Thaksin government
are on the same column that should not be trusted. The US should
investigate to freeze their accounts in connection with the regime
in Burma.
Due to the prevailing circumstances, we would like to urge the
people in Burma relying on our own struggle to fight against the
military dictatorship like fighting against plagues, which can only
be defeated by the power of the people. Courage, discipline and
conventional wisdom of the true leadership are beating the drum
of victory loud and clear over the disgraced regime.
DOWN WITH ALL THE ROAD-MAPs.
