To: H.E. Kofi Annan
Secretary-General
United Nations, New York.
September 08, 2003
Your Excellency,
We, the members of the National League for Democracy (NLD-Youth),
are in exile because of a variety of repressions from Burmese military
Dictators in Burma.
We are deeply and seriously concerned about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi,
her personal security and her life because we would not like to
lose her in the process of Democratic restoration.
As the people of Burma and the International Community know, she
sacrificed her life for people of Burma and she is facing unlawful
detention and oppression today.
We strongly believe that the Burmese military dictators of State
Peace and Development Council are fully responsible for any risk
of her life.
The situation is clear that the Burmese military dictators have
no plan to make meaningful dialogue with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the
NLD, and the ethnic groups for national reconciliation.
Moreover, the Burmese military dictators have refused the election
results from 1990 until now and will not hand over the State power
to the elected NLD.
Nevertheless, the Burmese military dictators endlessly oppress
and attack Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the NLD, and the NLD’s supporters.
Besides, the Burmese military dictators keep conspiring with Union
Solidarity and Development Association (USDA) to slaughter Daw Aung
San Suu Kyi, the NLD members, and the NLD’s supporters.
Therefore we eagerly request the United Nations and the UN Security
Council to consider action in Burma:
To save Daw Aung San Suu Kyi‘s life and release her
immediately.
To release all of the NLD Leaders and all of the political
prisoners immediately.
To reopen all of the NLD offices at once and have the political
rights in Burma.
To reveal who is responsible for Depayin Massacre on May
30 in near Kyi village,
Depayin Township, Shwe Bo District, Sagaing Division, Burma.
We will look for your response, thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
The Exiled NLD-Youth members,
