Burmese Activists Retort to the General Khin Nyunt's Craftiness
The Diaspora Burmese activists vehemently denounced the declaration
of General Khin Nyunt's version of road map which is nothing but
a ploy to prolong the tyrannical military rule in Burma and to hoodwink
the international community.
(1) There is no time frame or any specific people's representative
or groups to participate or to implement his so-called program.
(2) Instead of releasing the wounded Daw Aung San Suu Kyi now protesting
with hunger strike, the Peace Nobel Laureate and pro democracy leader
of Burma, she was made a scapegoat for all the country's evil.
(3) Peace, Democracy, National Reconciliation, Self Determination,
Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, so cherished by the people of
Burma are alien in this declaration.
(4) Since the military regime will not honour its own election
of 1990 and in its one and half decade of harsh military have used
"lying the very concept of truth" to perpetuate its rule,
we the Burmese activists including the ethnic nationalities youth
do not believe a single word of it.
We now demand
(a) Democracy,
(b) The prevalence of human rights,
(c) Self-determination,
(d) Equality and fraternity.
We call upon the military administration to bring justice to the
thugs of the Depayin incident and all those who have committed crimes
against humanity.
Unconditionally release all political prisoners including our beloved
leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
Stop, all torture, ethnic cleansing, systematic rapes, forced labour,
forced relocation and all sorts of human rights violations.
To hand over power to the legally elected government and start
the genuine national reconciliation.
