Your Excellency:
We would like to urge you to release the 12 Burmese activists,
who are members of Democratic Federation of Burma (DFB) and being
detained in the immigration detention center since July 26, 2003.
They have been peacefully holding demonstrations in front of Burmese
Embassy in Thailand, to release our democratic leader Daw Aung San
Suu Kyi and her loyal supporters in Burma.
It is sure that they had used democratic ways that is through a
non-violence mean in the demonstrations. There were no other purposes
of holding the demonstrations, except for the immediate release
of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and political prisoners, and free Burma.
According to our sources, they have been staging a hunger strike
for four days in the detention. We do deeply worry and concern about
their safety and health condition.
We earnestly would like to demand you:
1. To release them immediately
2. To give them a protection and security
3. To allow them to freely participating in our democratic movement
4. To support the restoration of democracy and human rights in Burma
We highly appreciate your consideration and cooperation for free
Burma.
Yours sincerely and respectfully,
Democratic Federation of Burma
