This article is response to FM Win Aung’s Don’t push Myanmar back into the shell.

Mr Win Aung: Myanmar is a peace-loving nation. The people of Myanmar love peace.

Yes I agree Burma is a peace-loving nation and people of Burma love peace. But this does not mean, SPDC can take advantage and bully people of Burma. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi advocate non-violent struggle to achieve our goal, free and democratic Burma. People of Burma trust her leadership and non-violent struggle. Only violent people in Burma are SPDC thugs. SPDC uses violent mean to crash dissidents and opposition. May 30 Dipeyin incident proved this right. SPDC knows they cannot rule Burma by vote. So they choose to rule Burma by violent mean.

Mr Win Aung: People of Burma lead simple lives and are content with whatever they have.

Past 40-years, people of Burma have no choice but to lead simple lives and content with whatever they have. People of Burma have no chance and no opportunity to live better lives. Only military men have privilege to lives different lives with ordinary Burmese. Only generals and cronies are not content with whatever they have. They have been trying to make money enough for 10 generation. They are the one greedy people. They are the one monopolize and control all the businesses including drug trade in Burma.

Mr Win Aung: During the present government’s time, it has been able to solve problems amicably and peacefully. Seventeen armed groups signed peace agreements with the government.

In fact, this is not peace agreement between SPDC and armed groups. This is just cease-fire agreement. They still can carry the own weapons and SPDC gives them special privilege to do everything what they want, but not politic. What is the result from this cease-fire agreement? Some armed groups like UWSA can launder the money they made from drug trade and other illegal trades. They involved in Banks, Hotels, and Properties business in Burma. SPDC Generals also benefit from drug trade and other businesses in Burma.

Mr Win Aung: The enrolment in the universities today exceeds 770,000. This speaks volumes for the work that has been done to promote education in the country.

Past fifteen years, most of the time universities are closed. Even normal academic year, students only study about 4 to 5 months. Most of the students enroll for correspondent courses, as SPDC do not want students to be together. SPDC moved universities to outskirt of city. Concrete Lecture Theaters become bamboo hut Lecture Theaters. Universities in Burma produce poor graduates. The degrees are not recognized anywhere in the world. The education system in Burma is totally destroyed under SPDC. The chairperson of Education is Sec-1 Gen. Khin Nyunt who did not finish tertiary education. What Mr. Win Aung wrote 770,000 universities enrollment is only to mislead the readers? He only highlighted quantity, but not quality.

Mr. Win Aung: It is trying to solve outstanding political problems. The problem involving Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is but one of many.

He failed to mention why political problems arisen. The political problems arose from Burmese Junta who failed to keep their promises, who against the wish of Burmese people. Before 1990 election, they promised, “Armed force will go back to barracks after transferring the power to elected government” “We held the election mean we have the intention to transfer the power to elected government”. Did they keep the promises? SLORC (now SPDC) ignored the wish of the people of Burma and tried to hold on the power forever. After 1990 election, they became illegitimate government and of course political problems arose. If they kept their promises and went back to barracks, no political problems in Burma.

Mr. Win Aung blamed International Community and Financial Institution for not giving support and financial assistance to SPDC and isolate them. He tried to say “SPDC failed because of no support and no financial assistance”. Mr Win Aung, you must understand that after 1990 election SLORC (now SPDC) became illegitimate government and nobody want to support and give financial assistance to illegitimate government. You cannot fool to International Community. They know very well. If they give financial assistance to SPDC, the money will evaporate in the hand of corrupt Generals and will never use something good for people of Burma. International community is not bias. They just support the people of Burma and rightful government of Burma. As long as SPDC pretend not to understand, the political problems will never be solved in Burma.

Mr. Win Aung: Myanmar does not pose any threat to regional or international peace and stability.

Encouraging drug trade and refugees at border areas due to SPDC repressive rule will pose threat not only regional also international peace and stability.

Mr. Win Aung: Myanmar does not possess any Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).

The rule of SPDC is equal to WMD. Burmese Junta killed ten of thousands of innocent Burmese people in 1988. SPDC is still killing and raping people of Burma. SPDC has been committing genocide and ethnic cleansing all over the Burma.

Mr Win Aung: Myanmar has never supported international terrorism.

SPDC is a group people who advocate state terrorism. Worst! SPDC terrorize own people. May 30 Dipeyin incident proved SPDC’s terrorism act.

Mr Win Aung, you must understand the actual situation and please do not try to mislead the readers. In fact, International Community is not pushing Burma back into the shell. They are trying to help people of Burma. Only SPDC is pushing Burma into the hell.
