Invitation for the
56th anniversary of the Burma's Martyr Day
General Aung San and his six cabinet members (including his brother)
were assassinated in the council chamber in Rangoon while the executive
council was in session on July 19 1947. We never forget July 19
and always honor it as Burma's Martyr Day.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said, "Martyr never
die". It means that even though Martyr's physical body
dies, his/ her martyred spirit never dies. Martyred spirit always
keeps in mind of all people. Even though military thugs try to eliminate
Martyrs' role and spirit, ordinary citizens organize themselves
and commemorate our Martyr Day to honor our beloved leaders General
Aung San and his colleagues.
We, Democratic Burmese Community of New York, invite you to join
us as scheduled:
Time 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Saturday July 19 2003
Place 10 E 77 Manhattan, NY
