| Fourth Anniversary Statement
of ALP-CNF-KNPP-KNU-RCSS Military Alliance
June 14, 2003
The Military Alliance of the ALP, CNF, KNPP, KNU and RCSS was formed
on June 14, 1999, and today is the fourth anniversary of the founding
of the Alliance. On this occasion of the fourth anniversary, we,
the Alliance issue our statement as follows.
Today, the SPDC dictatorship military clique is still oppressing
and waging a brutal war against the ethnic nationalities, the people
in general and their leading organizations. In this brutal war,
the SPDC troops have been committing extensively the crimes of killing
the innocent civilians, destroying the villages and food stocks,
forced labor, arrest and torture, extortion of cash and property,
rape of women and confiscation of land, up to this day.
The democratic and ethnic forces at home, as well as leading countries
of the world and the United Nations, have been strongly urging for
the settlement of political problems justly by political means.
Even though the UN Special Envoy has made 10 trips to the country,
in his effort to help resolve the problems, in compliance with this
demand, the SPDC has not only rejected dialogue but has also stepped
up its preferred means of terror attacks. The "terrorist attack
on May 30 at De-peh-yin" has stood witness to this.
The domestic and the international forces must notice the fact
that the SPDC military clique, practicing the ideology of ultra-nationalism,
and producing and distributing narcotic drugs, which are a threat
to neighboring countries and the world, has become the world's largest
terrorist group. We all must oppose the illegal existence of the
SPDC terrorist organization.
As the SPDC terrorist military clique, relying on brute force,
has not only continued to wage war of terror against the ethnic
nationalities and the people but has also stepped up this warfare,
we, the Alliance, affirm our resolve to make appropriate response.
