Dear U Bilal
The Overview is not by Harn. It is me, Eugene (or CTY/Chao-Tzang Yawnghwe).
Thanks for pointing out my glaring omission.
Firstly, apologies. I am now doing a revision of the Overview (OVw).
Many abject omissions as pointed out by you.
Let me firstly make it clear that the OVw is not meant to be a history
of the movement. It will take a lot of research and time to do a history,
and to do the movement and all the heroes full justice. That's why
I didnt mention any names of individuals or that of all the organizations
in the movement. Giving credit to anyone or any organization did not
weigh on my mind for this was not my intention.
The OVw piece is meant to provide a thumbnail description (repeat,
description) of what is in place now and who is doing what, where,
how -- rather, categorizing the actors and (or according to) their
activities. It is to repeat, not a history, nor comprehensive in any
way -- because I know the description cannot be comprehensive, without
more time and more work.
Believe it or not, because the struggle has been prolonged, so many
things has transpired, so many things are being done, and the scope
is world-wide, that even those engaged in the movement on a daily
basis do not have the general picture of the movement and its dynamics
and trajectory, and who the actors are.
Of course, I abjectly missed mentioning the CRDB, and as well the
various HR monitoring units who have contributed so very much.
By the way, I mentioned ADDB only because it was, I believe, recently
revived.
So, if you will bear with me, and of course, forgive me for my ommission,
I will put out a revised OVw.
In the above regard, I will show it to you first for your input. But
please remember it is not a history.
Lastly but not the least, do you have a brief write-up on the CRDB?
Please do write a definitive work on the CRDB.
The late U Tin Maung Win, just a few months before his sudden, unexpected
passage, mentioned to me the idea of getting someone to do an English
translation of his work (which is now a book, in Burmese). Has anything
been done in this regard? It deserves translation. It is valuable
political history. If the book is already translated, where can I
get a copy?
Best, and apologies again.
